In my life of Chinese banquets for every new baby, graduation, wedding or reunion, there was always one thing I wanted most. Steamed buns. Oh, yes, & the little sauces, & savory fillings, & bits of herb to stuff inside. There was only enough for one, maybe two. It was special. 

But now that we are grown, & can make our own. Well. This is what I am eating tonight. Filled with all things San Francisco: a bit of Mexican, Hawaiian, Chinese, Japanese, Filipino & Cambodian, Korean, & Ethiopian. Yup. Steamed bun bar.
